As mentioned on dvf.com, please see below some organizations that are assisting Haitians in need.
Cine Insitute: Founded by David Belle, the school is located in Jacmel, a town in Haiti that has been devastated by the earthquake. All funds for the school have been redirected to help the relief effort in Jacmel. Donate here.
Yele: The organization founded by Wyclef Jean has many ways you can help. Text “Yele” to 501501, which will automatically donate $5 to the Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund (it will be charged to your cell phone bill). Learn more here.
For more information, visit the USAID website. It will help outline what you can do to help the people of Haiti.
In addition to these, I provided support through the Edeyo Foundation which has been working since 2007 to provide free education to Haitian children in need. In this time of crisis, they have turned their efforts toward the needs of families affiliated with their school.
